I have the following obituary for "Speedy" JACOBS Watson who died on March 11, 1871:

Muscatine Journal, Muscatine Iowa, March 16, 1871 DIED At West Liberty, Iowa, March 11, 1871, SPEEDY W. WATSON, wife of Albert Watson, in the 48th year of her age. Mrs. Watson was born at Marshfield, Vt.; emigrated to Lexington, Ohio, in 1841, and the ensuing year united with the Methodist Episcopal Church, and remained a worthy and exemplary member until the hour of her death. That blessed religion that guided her through life lit up with its sacred halo her pathway to the tomb. When the good and the lovely die the memory of their deeds, like the moonbeams on the stormy sea, lights up our darkened hearts, and lends to the surrounding gloom a beauty so sad, so sweet, that we would not, if we could, dispel the darkness that environs it. A husband has lost an endearing companion--her six children an angel mother, and the church and our community one of their brightest ornaments. I wanted to give you two small corrections – Dorothy Johnson died on July 14, 1983. You have on your website she died in 1981. My brother Ron lives in South Portland and he and his wife Colleen recently moved in with Dad. My brother Ron never lived in Portland.
