I'm reviewing your JACOBS information at webpage http://carpenterpitkin.com/FamilyRecords/d64.htm I'm trying to locate family of origin information for a woman named SPEEDY W. JACOBS who, according to her obituary, was born in Marshfield, VT on 29 Apr 1823. I see that you have a "Spendy" JACOBS born on the same date, but you show a death date of March 11, 1877. I have the following obituary for "Speedy" JACOBS Watson who died on March 11, 1871: Muscatine Journal, Muscatine Iowa, March 16, 1871 DIED At West Liberty, Iowa, March 11, 1871, SPEEDY W. WATSON, wife of Albert Watson, in the 48th year of her age. Mrs. Watson was born at Marshfield, Vt.; emigrated to Lexington, Ohio, in 1841, and the ensuing year united with the Methodist Episcopal Church, and remained a worthy and exemplary member until the hour of her death. That blessed religion that guided her through life lit up with its sacred halo her pathway to the tomb. When the good and the lovely die the memory of their deeds, like the moonbeams on the stormy sea, lights up our darkened hearts, and lends to the surrounding gloom a beauty so sad, so sweet, that we would not, if we could, dispel the darkness that environs it. A husband has lost an endearing companion--her six children an angel mother, and the church and our community one of their brightest ornaments. She had resided nearly nineteen years at her late residence near West Liberty. --Mansfield (O.) Herald and Montpelier (Vt.) Watchmen and State Journal please copy.
