Juliette (Jettie) Mabel Carpenter was born on 29 April 1875 in Cabot, Vermont. She died on 18 December 1948 at the age of 73 in Barre, Vermont. She was buried in South Woodbury, Vermont. Jettie appears to have been named after a cousin of her mother's, Juliette (Jettie) Hazen. Barbara Carpenter wrote of Jettie: "George and Adelia were not pleased when their daughter married at the age of seventeen. She married a twenty-one year old man (Leon Wheeler) from Woodbury." Jettie and Leon lived in the Osgood farmhouse where she was born. Leon had assumed the mortgage which Jettie's father couldn't pay. Their two children were probably born there. Leon died of consumption in 1898, and Jettie then moved into her parent's house across the road, where she was living with her two children when the census of 1900 was taken. "The little girl, Flora, was lame. Her mother often took her to Montpelier for treatments. They travelled by train from Marshfield depot and stayed overnight in the city. At the boarding house Juliet met Bertram Chase whom she later married. Bertram and Juliet then lived at the Osgood farmhouse and also at the Ray Wheeler house (the house next beyond her parent's travelling east). Jettie rented the Osgood house for a year to the Dan Brown family. In 1913, Jettie . . . sold the Osgood place to her brother, Howard." Jettie later lived in Montpelier, and for a few years in Pawtucket, Rhode Island at 312 West Avenue. By 1940, she had returned to Barre, Vt. Parents: George Nathan Carpenter and Adelia S. Perry.

While looking on the internet for something totally unrelated, I came accross your web site containing information about several of the Carpenters that are a part of my line of Carpenters. I need to read the information mor carefully but I am sure it will help me expand my chart in the generation of Abijah H. Carpenter. I have a lot of information from Abijah to the current date if you are interested. Myron E. is my grandfather and Myron D is my great grandfather. I saw information about Adrian and Hildon. Both are brothers of my father Dana D. By the way the D in Myro D. is for Dana. I would love to visit with you sometime. I will give you my contact information
