Anna Dorman was born in 1875 in Warwick, Rhode Island. The existence of Anna as a member of this family is suggested by a Rhode Island state census of Warwick in 1875, listing her as a daughter in a household consisting of William, Abby, Ellen, and Mary A. Dorman. Not positive this is the same family shown in the 1870 federal census of Warwick consisting of William, Abby, Ellen, George, and Mary Ann, but seems very likely.

Abbie would have been fifty years old when Anna was born.

On March 18, 1878, a female child was born in Pittsfield CT to Ellen C. Dorman, born CT, residing in Otis. No father is listed. (Ellen Connor Dorman? Might Anna have been Ellen's daughter?) Parents: William Dorman and Abbie O. Connor.

Clotilde Whitney Dorman was born on 16 January 1932 in Providence, Rhode Island. On November 19, 1990, Clo was honored by the organization of Montpelier Business and Professional Women with the Woman of the Year Award. The following appeared on the program of that event which was attended by about 50 people:
"It is not necessary to search far in the community for those who know Clo Pitkin and who without hesitation speak with sincere admiration about the kind of woman she is. Most recently, Faire Edwards said, 'Clo is the perfect recipient of this award. She's a woman of great character and an excellent counselor!' Clo's dedication over the years to the goal of establishing a center for women is reflected in the preparation she made during her years of education and teaching. She was graduated from Goddard College in 1953, raised her family in the years which followed, and in 1969 received her Masters in Guidance and Counseling from The University of Vermont. After beginning at Goddard as director of an adult program, Clo served as a counselor at Community College of Vermont and from 1974-1979 was Coordinator of Counseling at the college. She returned to Goddard as Associate Director of Admissions, and in 1981 had a private practice in counseling and therapy. During this time, Clo became an assistant professor at Vermont College. On the Goddard faculty during 1985-1986, Clo taught psychology, leaving this position to begin development of a women's center. In 1987, WOMAN CENTERED, with Clo as its Executive Director, opened its doors as a haven for women. The center offered workshops, support groups, resources, referral, and advocacy and became a drop-in center for women of all ages. In a new location at 137 Barre Street, the Center flourishes today and continues to serve the many women who need it. The community is benefiting greatly from having Clo Pitkin with us."

George Dorman was born in November 1854 in Warwick, Rhode Island.32 Although George's marriage record (1884) gives his age as 30, and his birthplace as Warwick, Rhode Island, no birth record could be found for him in Rhode Island between 1853 and 1878. An obituary still in posession of his decendants gives his birthplace as "Phenix." The 1890 census gives his birthdate as November 1854, and his age as 45 at his last birthday. He died in 1920 at the age of 66 in North Kingston, Rhode Island. George was living at the time of the 1920 federal census, but a 1925 city directory of East Greenwich, RI lists his wife as a widow.

According to an entry in the Rhode Island Historical Cemeteries Transcription Project, George Dorman was born in 1854, died in 1920 and is buried in the Elm Grove Cemetery in North Kingstown, RI.

However, a letter written by George's son William in August 1922 makes reference to taking "the folks" on a trip, and shortly thereafter a reference to "dad". He may have been referring to the parents of his fiance, however, Charles and Grace Heilborn. He was buried in Elm Grove Cemetery, North Kingston, Rhode Island. Section N4, Map 00032 Obituary: George Dorman, for more than 40 years an employee of the Hamilton Web Company, and for a long time engineer of the plant died suddenly at the works Monday, probably from an attack of heart failure. They also had a boarder, Larue Alfred, Canadian, single white male aged 17, who was a weaver in the cotton mill.

A 1907 city directory for North Kingston lists George Dorman as a fireman for the Hamilton Web Company, and William A. Dorman as a designer for Hamilton Web.

In 1909, Margaret J. Dorman is also listed as a mill hand living with George Dorman.

In the 1910 North Kingston Census, Augustine Tierney was no longer in George's household, but there were children William A., aged 23, a designer at the cotton mill, and Margarete, 22, a spooler at the cotton mill. Both children were single.
